So we had our first appointment with the Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists this week. The appointment started out with a really long ultrasound during which we got to see all three babies up close and personal. It is still too early to tell the sexes but we did learn that they each have their own amnio sacs and umbilical cords which eliminates some potential complications down the road (and also makes it much more likely that they are all fraternal).
All three babies measured at about 4 cm (approximately 2 inches) and have strong heart rates. The ultrasound below is the first one we have received that shows all three amnio sacs with the kiddos visible.
