There and Back Again...A Triplet Journey

So it has been a few weeks since the last post and since I was starting to get death threats I thought that perhaps it was time to update the masses.  We have had a lot of excitement over the last two and half weeks including visits from Uncle Mike and Aunt Amy, Grandma Smith and our friends Laurinda, Ray and Jennifer.  We have been spoiled by our visitors who all really helped us out during the times that they were here.  Julie and I even got to go out to dinner and get a full night's sleep for the first time in over a month.  We have also been extremely blessed by the generosity of our neighbor Jordan who has been making us wonderful food and allowing us to use her in-law apartment to house our many house-guests.  We don't know what we would do if did not have the "Waskey Annex" to put people when they came to visit.

For those keeping track at home, the triplets officially turned "0" on Tuesday January 10th.  That was their original due date and it is the date from which their "adjusted" age starts.  For the forseeable future the triplets will have two ages, their actual age and their adjusted age.  This difference is important because a lot of developmental steps will be based on their adjusted age and not their actual age due to their being born 7 week early.  This is another example of something that we had not idea about until we had triplets.  The triplets celebrated this milestone by eating, sleeping and pooping all day.

While most of you visit this blog just to see updated pictures of the kids, we also thought that you all might get a kick out of seeing what a typical day is like for us.  Basically we feed the triplets every three hours (8, 11, 2 and 5 am/pm) for a total of 24 bottles and 24 burp cloths used per 24 hours.  We also go through an ENTIRE can of formula powder each day (each can is 8 oz and makes 50 oz of formula when mixed with water).  The kids get their diapers changed before each feeding and sometimes in between feedings if there is a massive poop so we go through approximately 24-28 diapers per day.  The pictures below may help put things into perspective.

In addition to all of the visitors that we've had, Julie and I also ventured out with the triplets for the first time in the triple stroller.  First we took all three of the kids to the doctor and then we took advantage of the 60+ degree weather to take a stroll around the neighborhood.
