Hello faithful Instantly Outnumbered readers! We are back from our vacation experiment (can 4 adults, 4 babies and 2 dogs survive 9 days in a small beach condo?) and we are still sane! For those that don't know, Julie and I have taken a week vacation in Ocean City, MD with Julie's sister and bro in law almost every year over the past decade. Long time readers may remember last year's adventure which included 2 trips to medical facilities and a fractured rib for then pregnant Julie. This year we were not sure what to expect given the fact that the under 18 month old humans would be equal to the number of over 30 year old humans. While the first two days were ROUGH, everything settled out and we had a great time at the beach.
The trips really enjoyed their time with their big cousin Ally and they definitely enjoyed exploring some new scenery. Now that the boys are really crawling, mostly we just see Andrew's butt because he is always moving away from us! We also had some help from everyone's parents which allowed us to actually go out to dinner a few times. While I could write an entire post about the beach alone, there is much more to cover!

I've been meaning to do a post about the Waskey Triplet Prison System for a while now but haven't had the time. Therefore I am going to roll that post into this one so that you guys can see how things work at the Waskey's now. There are actually several different stages of the WTPS which I have summarized below:
"Maximum Security" - We recently moved our dining room table out of the house and used that area as our SuperMax area. We mainly use this area for times that the trips are awake but we can't directly supervise them for some period of time (ie. we're cooking dinner, etc). The kids tolerate this detention facility for short periods of time but after about 15 mins it turns into three screaming children begging to be let out into minimum security.

"Minimum Security" - This is the main living room area of our house and the place where we used to leave the kids before they went mobile. This is probably their favorite place to play but they need to be fully surveilled in this area due to the boys knack for crawling down the hall, pulling books off the shelf, opening doors on the TV stand, etc...

"The Yard" - This is the outdoor play area where the trips like to hang out in the morning before it gets too hot. We rotate them through the different pieces of equipment so that they don't get too bored. We're not sure our neighbors appreciate this setup however as the kids can get a bit loud out here when they are excited.

"The Chow Hall" - The actual arrangement of the three high chairs varies depending on what we are feeding them (solids, finger foods, etc..) but every meal is eaten here. We think that the kids enjoy the close proximity they have to each other as they frequently "talk" to each other when they are in these chairs.

"The Gym" - These bouncies are the go-to energy burners in the WTPS. The boys especially like to bounce around in these things.

"Solitary" - The final stage of incarceration, primarily reserved for naps and nighttime (but occasionally used for extremely unhappy babies).

The final piece of new that we have this time around is Nadia's upcoming surgery. The surgery is set for Monday (9/17) and as of right now everything seems to indicate that it will be a go. Nadia has not shown any signs of illness this time around so we are keeping our fingers crossed that there are no emergency surgeries that pop up and push us back. We will post an update to the blog on Monday night and/or Tuesday to keep everyone informed about how things go. We appreciate all your prayers and support during this time.
