525,600 Minutes (How Do You Measure a Year)

This past week was a huge occasion for us.  Yes it was Thanksgiving, but more specifically, it was also the triplets first birthday.  While we had a great time up in Pennsylvania visiting Julie's family for Thanksgiving, (and we were happy to be eating Thanksgiving dinner outside of a hospital), there was another big event that took place the weekend before.  Long ago we decided that for the triplets first birthday we would host a "Thank You" party for all of the many people who have helped us during our first year with the trips.  Julie spent a lot of time planning the party and I spent a lot of time doing all of the things that Julie told me to do for the party.

Our church graciously allowed us to host the party at the church and over 60 people attended, including family and friends from church, work and our multiples groups.  While the main point of the party was to thank everyone for all of their help during the past year, one of the highlights of the party involved the triplets and their "smash cakes".  Our local grocery store, Farm Fresh, provides free birthday cakes for babies on their first birthdays (helpful hint of the day for new parents).  Thankfully whoever came up with that policy forgot to put a limit on it so we were able to get a cake for each baby.  While I could try to explain what happened, it is probably better to just watch the video below.

For those that could not attend the party we want to thank you very, very, very much for all of the time, energy and funds that you devoted to us over this past year.  When people meet us and find out about the triplets for the first time, their first comment is usually along the lines of "you've got your hands full" or "how do you do it?".  We can honestly say that the answer to the first question is "of course we do" and the answer to the second question is "with the help of many, many people".  It is probably hard for anyone to understand how much all of your help has meant to us and our sanity, so take our word for it...it has been HUGE!  We once again thank you and we look forward to Nadia, Ryan and Andrew getting to know you all better as they get older.  THANK YOU!!!!

Since Julie and I were rather busy during the party we neglected to take any pictures.  Thankfully my Dad shot some good videos and a few pictures which can be found below.  When we get more photos from other people I will try to add some more.

What's with these stupid carrots?  We want CAKE!
                                                                    YAY...CAKE!!

The sugar....its going straight to my head!!

My name is Nadia...I am one years old...I am freakin' adorable

But Grandpa...if this is your camera...and you are in the picture...who is taking the picture?

I can hold my own bottle now (Mom and Dad let out a sigh of relief)

Andrew got his walking video...now it's my turn
